Vertical Garden Design
Mar 13th
These pictures are from lastampa which is in Italian I believe. Anyway, it’s another take on designing a vertical garden. They used a water retaining fabric.. possibly some synthetic felt.. and looped it over metal bars to create the vertical garden. From google’s translator: “A Revigliasco you create vertical gardens as in Paris. The nursery offers green walls of ornamental plants and vegetables, as long as fruit and vegetables, are small.” So it seems you can go to a nursery in Italy and design your own vertical garden using the plants and materials they have setup for you. It’s an interesting concept. In some of the pictures, the garden would look a lot better when filled with larger plants. For the best effect, you shouldn’t be able to see any of the felt underneath the garden.
Sustainable Vertical Garden Design

Here’s an interesting set of vertical garden designs from Sustainable Garden Design in Perth, Australia. As you can see right away, there’s an interesting choice of plants for the vertical garden due to the climate and the designs are really unique. Using a combination of rocks and interesting building materials, these living walls really stand out… and somehow still work with the landscape.
