Martha Stewart’s Vertical Garden

Martha Stewart did a special on living walls as you can see below:
It looks like the wall panels from ELT Living walls were used to hold the plants. Those panels are about 20″ x 20″ x 2.5″ deep. The panels are at a 45 degree angle and the plants are planted right in the 2.5″ of soil. In this case, Kirei Board was used to make a really good-looking frame around it. You can really see that by really stuffing the wall with plants, you get a solid green wall. It looks amazing.

Here’s another style of living wall from Flora’s blog. It’s a great idea to use that interesting wood for the frame. It completes the natural look. I do wonder how this is watered… but you’ll notice it’s mainly planted with succulents which means it doesn’t have to be watered that often. Using succulents means the wall stays pretty flat as well. That’s a nice take on a living wall.
